Nancy Almawieh

i am a Clinical Psychologist and Addiction Specialist with experience in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders and behavioral addictions. My work focuses on understanding the psychological, social, and behavioral factors that contribute to addiction and supporting individuals in their recovery process. I have experience working with diverse populations, including adolescents and adults, and I am particularly interested in the relationship between addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions. In my clinical practice, I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and harm reduction strategies to help individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms and improve their psychological well-being. I have strong knowledge and practical experience in Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST), Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT), including its clinical principles, harm reduction approaches, and psychosocial support strategies. I am familiar with the role of medications such as Methadone and Buprenorphine in the treatment of opioid use disorders, as well as the importance of integrating pharmacological treatment with psychological and social interventions. Alongside my clinical work, I am also involved in teaching psychology at the university level, where I share knowledge with students on topics related to psychopathology, addiction, and mental health. My goal is to contribute to both clinical practice and academic development in the field of psychology.
